NEW YORK | February 7 – 14, 2013
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2013 is just a few weeks away. Over 100,000 guests will attend the runway shows at the Lincoln Center in New York. According to Jarrad Clark, Global Director of Production, IMG Fashion Events and Properties, the Fall 2013 Collections are particularly exciting, as there will be many American designers returning to the runways along with numerous bright internationally emerging brands, such as Chris Benz, Martin Margiela, Prabal Gurung, Ruffian, and Brandon Sun. Most of the well-established brands will also be present of course.
LONDON | February 15 – 19, 2013
2012 brought 62 catwalk shows, 110 emerging and established designers, and international buyers from 28 countries to the London Fashion week. This year will be very similar, and as usual on behalf of the British Fashion Council, a number of exhibitions such as the Aesthetica, showcasing the work of cutting edge designers committed to eco sustainably; NEWGEN, a set up promoting new designer businesses worldwide; and Rock Vault, an exhibition supporting Britain’s most innovative, fine jewelry talents; will be presented at the Fashion fair. Some of the designers on the runways this season will include Felder & Felder, J.W. Anderson, Antoni & Alison, and Unconditional among many more.
MILAN | January 12 – 15, 2013 (Men) | February 20 – 26, 2013 (Women)
Milan is definitely the location for fashion, and the fashion week hosts over 170 shows and presentations, promoting the famous Italian and international fashion houses and supporting upcoming talents to ensure a continuous and steady development in the Italian fashion universe. Most of the famous Italian brands, such as Gucci, Prada, Versace, and Roberto Cavalli, will be presenting their Autumn/Winter 2013 collections in Milan.
PARIS| January 16 – 20, 2013 (Menswear) | January 21 – 24, 2013 (Haute Couture) | February 26 – March 6, 2013 (Ready To Wear)
Paris, the fourth fashion capital in the world, is centered on the future and young designers, and is considered the #1 platform for upcoming talents. Even the most eclectic and traditional labels aim to showcase their most individual designs, which is what can be expected in 2013 as well. The last season presented designers such as Sass & Bide, who brought Australians design to France, with their origami sequin creations, while Louise Gray brought Barbie back with yellow wedge shoes, and graphic printed cardigans. It’s important to remember that Paris will be presenting its selection on the runways overlapping some of the London fashion weeks days, and it might be difficult to choose.
